Design, Prototyping and Fabrication

MMG Ocean is recognised as a leader in design, prototyping, and fabrication

Design

Experts in SolidWorks, the design team will, as required, collaborate with global leaders including Svitzer, OCEA, ARES, Zamakona, Padmos to solve particular challenges. MMG Ocean works to international standards: DNV, ABS, ISO and Lloyds.

Prototyping

MMG Ocean has the experience and skillset to propose a range of custom solutions specific to engineering challenges in the marine, fishing, aquaculture, and renewable energy sectors.

Fabrication

The welding engineers are proficient in ARC, MIG, and TIG, and adhere to welding standards including ASME 1X:2010, BS EN 9606-1/2, WPQR, and EN ISO 15614. Their welding practices are examined and PED approved by TUV Rheinland.
Vigorous weld testing includes visual inspection (VT), radiographic inspection, magnetic particle inspection (MPI), liquid penetrate inspection (PTI), and ultrasonic inspection (UT). Vessel hydro testing services are also available.

24-hour mobile support

MMG Ocean can provide a 24-hour, full support service with specialist services on-site in Ireland, the UK, and Overseas.

This service includes skilled welding engineers, 24-hour call services, and a mobile workshop equipped with:

  • Arc and MIG welding plants
  • Air arc gouging
  • Generators
  • Oxygen Acetylene kits
  • Oxygen and Acetylene plasma cutters
  • Cargo baskets.
Ocean Kinetics diver

Diving

Our partners Ocean Kinetics offer a comprehensive range of diving and remotely operated vehicles (ROV) services.

The dive teams from Lerwick and Aberdeen can be mobilised quickly to conduct surveys, inspections, underwater welding, construction, demolition, and salvage.

All Ocean Kinetics divers are trained to the highest standard and are also fully qualified tradesmen.

Their specialist ROV service is tailored to your needs. With cutting-edge technology, including an inspection class ROV, they can offer clients inspections and surveys to a depth of 300m.
