JACK-UP BARGE CREW TRANSFER
CLIENT – Causeway GeoTech Ltd
LOCATION: Northern Ireland
BRIEF: To take an outline concept, and develop a safe solution for the transfer of crew to and from Causeway GeoTech jack-up Barge: Causeway Giant 2
Causeway GeoTech is a specialist in geophysical survey work – originally onshore, and now increasingly offshore. Causeway is growing its fleet of jack-up barges and as a safety-conscious company challenges MMG Ocean to develop a crew transfer ladder that:
- Could be retrofitted to its jack-up barge: Causeway Giant 2
- Is compliant with all DNV standards
- And can be swiftly deployed to effect safe transfer of crew to and from Causeway Giant 2
MMG Ocean has worked very successfully with Causeway GeoTech on the design and manufacture of that compliant crew transfer ladder.
The crew transfer ladder has been designed to work on any jack-up barge – the only possible customisation being the position of the minting brackets.
This project is part of MMG Ocean’s accelerating growth into the offshore wind sector.
MMG Ocean now has the lifting capacity to manufacture these large / heavy sub-structures after the expansion of its manufacturing facility (and the installation of additional gantry cranage in Q4 2023.
