LANDING LADDER

THE CHALLENGE: To develop GeoSeaCores initial concept of a safe, landing ladder to facilitate personnel transfers between a Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) and a jack-up barge with the ability to accommodate CTVs (weighing up to 15 tonnes) approaching the ladder, with the flexibility to retract when the barge needs to relocate.
The Solution
The concept was developed into a fully engineered, hydraulically operated landing ladder, designed to meet the clients’ operational requirements and in accordance with DNV guidelines. The project covered the complete process, from design and manufacture through to wet testing in the harbour at Killybegs, to ensure that the finished system was ready for deployment. The ladder was also designed for transportation by road to simplify shipping and delivery.
